Design Process
As each project is different and individual, I offer flexibility so you can choose the bits you want and we can discuss how involved you would like to be in the process. Some clients contact me for the initial design concept, and then choose to build themselves using their own landscaper. Whilst others prefer me to monitor the entire project from initial design to completion. Your involvement is completely up to you and your budget.
Consultation
A chance to walk around your garden to discuss your ideas, budget and how you use the garden. Following the consultation, I will send you out a design proposal suited to your needs. When you have decided, we move on.
Brief and site survey
The design brief ensures that the garden will reflect your needs. It informs us of the elements that you would like to see in your garden. Photos will be taken and the garden and measurements recorded.
Preliminary layout plans
Initial sketches and a first plan are drawn up, so you can sense how the garden will look. This is the time to make any changes before the plan is finalised.
Masterplan
The final plan is created in colour, showing your garden design. This is a scaled drawing that a landscape contractor can work with.
Planting Plan
Planting is the finishing touch and can bring a garden to life. Planting plans show the position, size and quantity of plants needed. A written report of how to care for your plants can be provided. Plants can be supplied and planted if required.
Construction and monitoring
I can work closely with landscapers and project monitor if required. Making site visits and staying close to all aspects of the garden.
